Artist's Nook

A wonderful local store with many short courses in altered art of all kinds, taught by local and nationally recognized artists. This is a place you can play with art-making, learn something fun, buy your supplies, and be in the company of creative people who know how to enjoy their art-making.

Owner Christine Webb is an amazing creativity resource and she keeps her store well-stocked, her classes well-scheduled, and fuels the fires of enthusiasm for altered art experimentation!

Check out her website, give her a call, or stop by her store. Details on her site listed here.

Labyrinth Locator - anywhere!

If you are interested in labyrinths, please come out and visit the one at The Studio at Blue Heron House on my property (see Labyrinth section of my website). When you travel, you might try using this Labyrinth Locator link, which gives you options for visiting labyrinths anywhere in the world.

It also has information about the Labyrinth Society and can give you links to other information you might find interesting. It might surprise you to find that there are labyrinths right in your own town whose existence has been a well-kept secret.

Creative Choices

Carolyn Foster is a writer, workshop facilitator, coach, and all around incredible person. Her site can take you to the various services she offers, and if you get on her e-mail list, you will get an excellent writing exercise and a coaching tip each month. I love getting her messages, printing out the exercises to paste them into my journal and then writing my responses to her prompts. Her women's retreats in beautiful places in northern and southern California always tempt me!

Check out her website for much more information than I can give you here.

A Richer Life

Steve Martin is a financial planner who has a refreshing, professional, holistic approach to financial consulting.  He offers fee-for-service consulting, something I like very much, but don't see often.  That means his fees ONLY come from the client, not from commissions or "referral" fees from particular investment instruments.  His goal is to help you create a life you love.

You are the client, not your money!  What a unique approach!

Financial independence, peace of mind, and a life you love - those are Steve's goals for you.  He walks his talk, and offers a unique and dedicated approach to client education, with workshops and classes, services, reading lists, his personal blog, and  more.

Complimentary initial consultation.  In these tough times, we need people like Steve in our corner.  Check out his website

Exceptional Wisdom Radio - Mar

This is a program hosted by Kathleen (Kay) Adams, of Journal To The Self fame, among other things, in which she interviews me on her program "Journaling For A Better Life".  We talk mostly about travel writing and memoir, with some other things thrown in.

The program itself allows you to hear interviews by many leaders in the reflective writing field, and I am proud to be included among them.  You can download any of the programs for listening on an MP3 player or your iTunes, or just listen to the program on-line.

Enjoy!

Adventures in Nature

Here's one from Sydney, a nom du plume for a woman who is volunteering at a wildlife rescue organization in Houston, as well as serving as a docent for the lovely zoo there.  She has the privilege of being kissed by baby giraffes, feeding tiny baby wildlife, and helping rescued baby goats and other adorables  from Mother Nature.  Check her out l. . . she almost always includes little video clips of these baby creatures, and if you sign on to her blog as an official follower, you will get NO JUNK, but sometimes a video life-cam of baby hawks/eagles/other bits of wonder.  Try it!

Again, an inspiring example for those of you who want to write about the interests in your life but just haven't gotten "around to it".
